Suspension (2001)
- Suspension
- Pointbreak
- Introspective
- Cyborg
- Secrets
- Paradox
This 7 track album is home to some of the scariest
guitar work I have ever heard! The speed at which Francesco
can fly around the fretboard is pretty darn sick! Chris Impellitteri
and Michael Angelo are nothing on this dude.
Once you get past the super fast fretwork you will
find a generally pretty solid body of work. We have some very
nice keyboard and piano movements that lay the foundations for
most tracks. The drums are programmed so do have a bit of a
mechanical feel but do not distract too much from the rest of
the good progressive and original music on offer.
Generally the production is pretty good for a self
made demo, the guitars are a little thin in places but this
tone is often needed when fast lead work is needed to maintain
clarity. I would like to see Francesco have a beefier tone on
future works and also work on his vibrato as I feel that is
the one aspect of his style that is currently his weakness.
Overall if you are in the market for some of the
fastest lead work ever heard then check out this album. The
inlay book and cover are well done and overall Francesco has
a good product here. Considering the amount of time he has been
playing guitar then its quite obvious that Francesco has a serious
talent and it will be very interesting to see how he progresses
as an artist.

Francesco
Fareri
Genre: Neo-Classical / Progressive / Shred

Francesco Fareri was born in 1978 in Rome, Italy.
He started playing guitar in 1995 and early influences included
Yngwie Malmsteen, Joey Taffola, Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine
and Jason Becker. In 1997/98 Francesco recorded his first 4
song demo entitled 'Hurricane'. Around the same time he started
doing concerts around Rome. In December 1998 he released his
second demo - 'Labyrinth' where Francesco also included some
transcriptions of his solos. It was around this time that Francesco
started getting into the works of George Bellas, Shawn Lane,
Greg Howe and particularly keyboardist Vitalij Kuprij (Artension).
In 1999 Francesco recorded a couple more demos,
'Seven Magic Arts' and 'Mind Boggling' and it was this that
led to an undiscovered artist feature on the Guitar 9 website.
Interest from other website was by now starting to generate
so Francesco set to work on another body of work.
This turned into the Suspension which was expanded
upon with more tracks and differernt arrangements for the Suspension
album released in 2001. This has gone on to be a big seller
through independent retailers and through Francesco's own website.
Early 2004 will see Francesco guest on Vitalij Kuprij
solo album Forward & Beyond.
In addition Francesco has a huge archive of guitar
lessons available on his site and 2 cd roms to buy on his site
and across many other guitar sites.
